Social Life Pizza is a fast-casual eatery that serves Neapolitan style pizzas cooked in a high-temperature domed Forno oven at temperatures as high as 900 degrees. A 48-hour fermentation process and the high temperatures create pizza crust that is crispy with a perfect chew and slight char. The ingredients have been carefully curated through decades of personal relationships with manufacturers and farmers to create the most authentic pizza experience – just like one would have in the birthplace of pizza, Naples, Italy – imported certified Neapolitan Double Zero Flour, San Marzano Tomatoes, herbs that were grown and dried in the Calabrian sun and local California produce, meats and cheeses.
Social Life celebrates all that is social about the dining experience, in particular drawing on their founder’s experiences eating pizza in Italy. A veteran of the pizza industry, Joseph DeSantis comes from a family with a 55-year history in the pizzeria business. During his childhood, Joe traveled through Italy and tasted his first Neapolitan style pizza, and he was hooked on replicating and perfecting the quality of the product – always keeping in mind the chewy and charred crust.
Growing up in a restaurant family, Joe’s food philosophy has always centered on using the best ingredients and highlighting their quality with a simple preparation. Social Life brings a taste of Naples to you and offers both traditional and “crafted by you” pizzas with a variety of gourmet ingredients. All of Social Life’s recipes are developed by Joe in the high-heat oven in his backyard, which was built by a Sicilian tradesman, and are then taste-tested by his Italian family and friends!
